Food and drink under the Brooklyn Bridge

The El-Box, a centerpiece of the New York City Department of Transportation’s efforts to activate spaces under elevated bridges, trains and highways, is located directly under the south side of the Brooklyn Bridge in Lower Manhattan.

The area underneath and adjacent to the Brooklyn Bridge has not been activated since 9/11, and the El-Box is set to be the first step in bringing awareness and excitement to the adjoining neighborhoods.

In partnership with the Old Seaport Alliance (OSA) and the New York City Department of Transportation (DOT), the El-Box is intended to serve as a wayfinding tool that brings the Downtown, Chinatown and Seaport communities together, while also offering food and beverage options to foot traffic on and around the Brooklyn Bridge.

The El-Box activation has been made possible with the generous support of Anheuser-Busch/InBev (ABI), and it will feature a rotating schedule of weekday breakfast and happy hour service delivered by a series of the great restaurants that are members of the OSA.

OPEN Monday-Friday, 8AM – 2PM.
